Fairfield was originally established in 2005 in response to the developing opportunities for focused independents to acquire and operate marginal fields in the UK Continental Shelf. Thereafter we went on to build a portfolio of assets, becoming the operator of the Greater Dunlin Area in 2008 and assuming the Dunlin duty holder role to adopt full command and control in 2014.
We are currently far-advanced in applying our proven experience as an independent late-life, mature field operator to the complex multi-year decommissioning project for the Greater Dunlin Area. In accordance with good practice, we had anticipated the need to decommission Dunlin from its acquisition and were prepared for how best to safely and efficiently approach the project.
The Fairfield team has continued to drive best practice in terms of addressing the new and often unique challenges associated with decommissioning topsides and subsea infrastructure, whilst taking a nimble and responsive approach to seeking solutions that are measured but not unnecessarily over-engineered. We are working closely with the Dunlin joint venture partner, MCX, and other relevant stakeholders to undertake the decommissioning of the Greater Dunlin Area safely, efficiently and effectively to ensure a responsible legacy for future generations.
