January 2010

The first public consultation meeting to consider decommissioning options for the 320,000 tonnes Dunlin Alpha concrete gravity base structure was held in January 2010. Further details can be found in the Stakeholder Engagement section of this website.

May 2010

As part of the planning process for the eventual decommissioning of the Dunlin Cluster, Fairfield has sponsored two important research projects at the  Universities of Dundee and Leeds into long term concrete degradation in seawater.  The press release announcement is available below.

September 2010

A meeting of environmental experts was held in September 2010 at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton to discuss the methods for assessing the contents of the CGB cells and their potential environmental impact.  Further details can be found in the Stakeholder Engagement section of this website.
